A friendly reminder from Hillcrest Cemetery in Smiths Falls – almost time to remove decorations from the grounds

In an attempt to prevent the uproar we saw a few years ago, the Town of Smiths Falls is out with a reminder that all decorations at Hillcrest Cemetery should be picked up from grave sites by the 15th of the month.

After that, staff will be removing anything that’s left at ground level, and they emphasize those items will be kept on the grounds inside, temporarily for pick up.

Christmas decorations are allowed, but only on the monuments themselves. They have to be removed on January 7th.

The ground level decorations can go back May 1st.
