The OPP is investigating the discovery of a camera in a staff area at the Perth site of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.
A CBC report says the hospital has not clarified yet if the camera was concealed or meant to be there.
the national broadcaster has received internal emails that show the hospital launched its own internal investigation, which included bringing in a firm with “extensive experience in the detection of recording devices.”
No other cameras were found.
An October 20th email obtained by a CBC source (unnamed) confirmed the camera was found. One the next day said a manager was no longer with the organization.
One staff member told the national broadcaster that they want more information, like where the camera was found and what it was used for.
The OPP is not commenting as their investigation is ongoing.
We will have more on this story as it develops.
