During last month’s Lake 88 Radiothon for local healthcare, the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital foundation set a goal to raise $96,000 for eight new in-patient beds and mattresses for acute care.
They came up just short, but as the Foundation’s Margot Hallam tells us, the Lanark and District Civitan Club stepped up.
Lanark Civitan Treasurer Ken Fournier presented the cheque for that missing amount, $10,950, using funds raised through Civitan Radio Bingo and recycling projects.
Hallam says this isn’t the first time the group has helped out.
This latest donation is in addition to the $5,000 the club gave during this year’s Radiothon.
