There are two local bridge works projects coming up this week.
The Blakeney Bridge in Mississippi Mills will close for two weeks for remedial repairs to restore its 12 ton load limit. Its current reduced limit is 5 tons. A total replacement of this span is planned for 2023 or 2024.
Then tomorrow, from 8 am to 5 pm the Rideau Ferry Bridge will be closed completely for expansion joint and bearing replacements. A second closure will take place the following week with details to be announced.
The bridge will also be down to one lane again next spring and summer as they work on completing its restoration.
