Mayor Shawn Pankow is excited to continue to be at the helm of Smiths Falls council.
He says there’s lots of big decisions and projects on the way over the course of the next four years but feels he and the last council did a good job laying the foundation to get there.
Joining him once more is former colleague Dawn Quinn, who’s back for her fifth term after losing her re-election bid in 2018, only to win four years later.
Quinn was publicly critical of Pankow and the town’s Beckwith Street revitalization, a moment of time she told Lake 88 she’s moving on from and is water under the bridge.
Pankow shared a similar sentiment.
Pankow’s third mayoral term marks the 137th edition of Smiths Falls council. Councillors served one-year terms from 1854 until 1980.
