You can count Perth council among the others in the area and across the province that are opposed to Ontario’s Build More Homes Faster legislation.
Mayor Judy Brown has written Premier Doug Ford and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Steve Clark outlining her council’s concerns with the proposed bill.
She raised lower development fees to pay for municipal infrastructure, less wetlands protection, and a decrease in the amount of affordable housing required for new builds, among her concerns.
Council unanimously passed the motion to forward the letter in time for the province’s public comment deadline.
