Lanark County council planned their approach to the upcoming Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference in late January.
It’s a chance for municipalities to have 15-minute delegations with provincial ministers and air their concerns and requests with no one in the middle.
The county is seeking four this year, including a meet with the Ministry of Long-Term Care to discuss contract nursing.
Councillor Ed McPherson saw the associated costs with the practice with his own eyes.
The county will also seek to meet with the Ministry of Health to ask about mandating cross border ambulance calls, look to coordinate an approach with the province to incorporate stop arm cameras on school buses, and ask the government to incorporate the recommendations made in the Renfrew inquest regarding intimate partner violence.
