Bill 23, the More Homes Built Faster act introduced by the province to tackle the housing crisis continues to be criticized by many.
From small municipalities to charitable organizations, many say the legislation doesn’t go far enough to address to help those who need it most.
Terrilee Kelford of Cornerstone Landing says simply getting homes built isn’t enough.
She says if we’re not building purpose-built, deeply affordable housing there’s no where for people on the lengthy social housing waiting list to live without breaking the bank.
Kelford says money for solutions like rent supplements has to be introduced to help those who need it most.
