The rising cost of food mixed in with the pandemic has left many struggling with hunger and food insecurity.
The United Way of Bruce Grey has been working to address the rising demand in food bank use.
The United Way has partnered with local start up company NPX to build the Food Bruce Grey App, a data collection platform, to collect and share data on food programs and their impact on the community.
The app will allow foodbanks and meal programs to enter information and illustrate how they are being used and how the needs are growing.
The app launched this week and members of the public can view the dashboards by visiting foodbrucegrey.com.
