The Smiths Falls Public Library Board has voted to forgive all fines and fees on user accounts $50 or less owing.
The board had already decided to stop charging overdue fines.
The Library says that owing even small amounts can prevent people from using their services and they’re confident these moves will help get people back.
They do note that people who haven’t used the library in more than a year will need to renew their cards, but they say that’s quick and easy.
