Ontario’s top doctor is set to provide an update today on the province’s plan to live with and manage COVID-19.
Multiple reports this morning say that most masking mandates will be dropped on March 21st. The news was first reported by the Toronto Star.
Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health, is scheduled to provide the update at 11 a-m.
Last week, Moore said the province is planning to remove mask mandates by the end of the month, as long as positive public health trends continue.
The news comes as the province continues with its plan to gradually lift COVID-19 restrictions. Earlier this month, capacity limits at indoor public spaces including restaurants and gyms were dropped.
We will talk about Moore’s news conference and what it means for the people of Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville, when Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paula Stewart joins us for her weekly visit to In Focus after the news at noon.
