An effort by Carleton Place couple Mary Mokrushyna and her partner Zack Nethery to get Mary’s family members from war-torn Ukraine to the town has grown into a county-wide effort to bring the family and others here.
Carebridge Community Support was brought in to help out to keep track of the finances and donations that have been pouring in.
Carebridge Community Engagement Director Jeff Mills tells lake 88 news the people of Lanark County have stepped up.
He also says support has come in all forms as the group quickly came together.
