A lawsuit has been filed against the town of Perth over the Tay River’s Rocky Ramps. It came up during discussions at Tuesday night’s council meeting.
The Rocky Ramp structure installed by the town was intended to improve flows and reduce weed build-up in the small canal.
Low summer water flows have caused the weeds and their odour to return.
A motion was on the floor to authorize staff to repair the ramps.
When it seemed set to fail, Councillor Barry Smith brought up a lawsuit that had been filed against the town. As he explained:
Council voted to defer any further discussion until legal advice can be obtained.
