Federal funding for a new river pathway and healing garden in Last Duel Park is coming to Perth.
Following a recommendation from the Last Duel Park Advisory Panel, an application was submitted to the Canada Community Revitalization Fund to cover 75% of the costs of creating a new river pathway and healing garden.
The feds kicked in just over $58,000 leaving the town’s portion of the project coming in at $19,350.
The garden will consist of 7 large flat-topped rocks surrounding a fire pit and the pathway will follow the river’s edge to the current southern boundary of the park.
Council approved entering into the funding agreement. The works will be completed this year.
