The Ontario government has made it official; it is expanding eligibility for fourth doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
If you are 60-years-old or older you can book your shot starting tomorrow (Thurs. Apr. 7, 2022). Click here to make an appointment.
The province says the move will provide an extra layer of protection against the Omicron and BA.2 variants which are driving the current surge and sixth wave of the pandemic in the province.
Minister of Health Christine Elliott says the province has one of the lowest hospitalization rates, “Because of our exceptionally high vaccination rates and Ontario’s cautious approach.”
She also noted that the province has performed well when compared to other similar sized provinces and states, and is encouraging everyone who’s eligible to get boosted as soon as possible.
We will get local reaction on In Focus today when we welcome Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paula Stewart after the news@noon.
