The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (known as MPAC) paid a visit to Perth council’s committee of the whole meeting this week.
They had answers about how the surge in home prices will affect tax bills.
MPAC staff explained that the province requires new valuation assessments every 4 years and the last one was completed in 2016.
Kim Bennett, the local account manager for MPAC explained how reassessments affect taxation.
The pandemic has delayed any new reassessment with no firm date yet planned for the next.
