Police in Smiths Falls investigated two domestic calls this week, both resulting in serious charges being laid.
They have arrested a man for what they call Intimate Partner Violence offences.
They arrested the 18 year-old Bancroft man last Sunday. Police say their investigation revealed the offences against his ex-partner happened over the course of their time together. Among the charges he is facing are two counts of assault, choking, and forcible confinement.
He was released with strict conditions and will appear in court at a future court date.
Then on Monday April 4th, police got a call to an Old Mill Road residence for a report of an unwanted male.
Once on scene they found a 67-year-old Smiths Falls man had been to the home of his ex-partner after being warned several times not to go the home.
He was placed under arrest and was charged with one count of Criminal Harassment and held for a bail hearing.
The charges against either suspect have not been proven, and he cannot be named, in order to protect the identity of the victim.
