COVID-19 Update – First local report of the week due this morning, provincial numbers jump again

We get the health unit’s first COVID-19 hospitalization report of the week later this morning.

On Friday, it showed five local hospitalizations in Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville related to the virus, with two in the ICU, and just one being ventilated.

The number of fatalities since the pandemic began held at 93 and there were six local outbreaks.

Ontario saw an increase in COVID-19 related hospitalizations yesterday with 977 people in hospital — up from 904 on Saturday.

There were 173 of those in the ICU – five more than the previous day, and 11 new deaths were reported.
