Keeping local small businesses afloat will be a multi-pronged effort
At last week’s Perth Council committee of the whole meeting, a generous private donation to assist the town with tourism initiatives was gratefully received.
This is the second large donation from the Shannan family of Perth through their foundation and it was $50K.
According to staff it’s their intent to help the town recover from the pandemic and continue to thrive and build into the future.
The money will be used to support spring and fall night markets, seasonal ad campaigns, lighting in Stewart Park and content creators.
The committee voted unanimously to accept the donation and to send a letter of thanks from a grateful mayor and council.
