The Smiths Falls Bears dropped game one of their CCHL second round playoff series against the Jr. Senators 6-1 last night in Ottawa (Wed.).
Smiths Falls’ Riley Thompson’s first of the playoffs briefly tied the game for the Bears late in the first. It was all Ottawa from there as the Jr. Sens scored five unanswered goals after that.
Fatigue from the late season playoff push may have set in as the Bears mustered just 16 shots on goal.
The Bears do get a night off, after playing the last two in a row, and play game two tomorrow night (Friday) in Smiths Falls at 7:30.
