The ‘Smiths Falls Welcomes Ukraine’ Committee is looking for Smiths Falls area residents who are willing to help Ukrainian families fleeing the war.
Committee Spokesperson Mark Czubak tells Lake 88 one of the primary needs are people willing to commit to hosting a family.
Approved families will be asked to take part in an assessment process.
They’re also looking for people to help in other ways too. Czubak tells us those who can’t host, but would still like to help can do so.
Fundraising efforts are also welcome.

The group tells us they also plan to launch a new website soon and will be hosting an open house for anyone wishing to lend a hand.
