Smiths Falls Council
The town of Smiths Falls has received more than $363,000 from the provincial government to support the Small Business Advisory Centre.
The Centre has been in operation since 1988, and Manager of Economic Development and Tourism Julia Crowder reminded council of the services it provides.
Councillor Peter McKenna said this is a prime example of cutting red tape, as the province had three agreements to provide support turned into one.
This new deal, which was approved last night, is good for two years with an option to extend for a third.
The Small Business Advisory Centre provides funding and support to local entrepreneurs, including hands-on business and mentoring opportunities for enterprising students.
