Municipal council and school board elections are getting closer.
Election day is Monday, October 24th.
The province notes that the nomination period begins on May 1st, but since that’s a Sunday, you may not be able to file a nomination until May 2nd when your local clerk’s office is open.
The deadline for nominations for both council and school trustee candidates is Friday, August 19th, at 2 p.m.
Many municipalities in our area are using online voting. Those that aren’t but would like to, or would like to use another method, have until May 1st to pass an appropriate by-law.
