For the first time since 2007, we will have a new MPP in Lanark-Frontenac Kingston, as Current Member, Independent Randy Hillier announced he would not be seeking re-election.
This time around John Jordan is the Conservative Party of Ontario’s candidate. He is a newcomer to provincial politics.
The New Democrats will be represented by Drew Cumpson, the Liberals by Amanda Pulker-Mok. For Cumpson this is his first provincial election, while Pulker-Mok represented the Liberals in the last provincial election, finishing third with just over 10% of the vote.
Marlene Spruyt will represent the Green Party of Ontario.
Brenda Bell Folks is running for the People’s Political Party and Chris McNaughton will carry the None of the Above banner.
Hillier won the last election with 52.03% of the vote over then New Democrat Candidate, Ramsey Hart.
Conservative Candidate for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes Steve Clark is going for his fifth straight win in this year’s provincial election.
He won the last election in 2018 with 61.27% of the vote over the NDP candidate who gathered just over 19% of the vote.
This time around Clark will face Liberal Candidate Josh Bennett who ran for the Liberals in the 2019 Federal Election, the NDP’s Chris Wilson, The Green Party of Ontario’s Fiona Jager, and Libertarian Mark Snow.
