Young people looking to make a difference in their own communities can now apply for the new Community First Scholarship to help achieve that goal.
President of Lake 88’s parent company, My Broadcasting Corporation, Jon Pole says the idea is to help students that want to have a positive influence in their own communities across Ontario.
Pole says the $2500 scholarship will be learning experience for the students, and for him.
To be eligible, high school students must complete a form and share a 1-2 minute long recording about what community means to them by June 3rd.
Pole says the audio portion should get the creative muscles flexing.
The Scholarship will be awarded based on the content of the audio portion and the application. Messages can be recorded on a phone recorder app or as a video.
