COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Indigenous Art Show coming to Zion Memorial Church in Carleton Place

Zion Memorial United Church is hosting an indigenous art and craft show on Saturday in Carleton Place.

Indigenous artist and founder of the Art for Aid group, Colleen Gray, will be there and says the timing is appropriate in light of events and grim discoveries at residential schools across the country.

Gray says Zion Memorial is just one of many local churches trying to help the healing process during reconciliation.

Admission is free, but donations to Art For Aid, which focuses on providing indigenous children with art supplies are welcome. You learn more about them by tapping or clicking this text block.

The show takes place at 37 Franklin Street in Carleton Place from 9 until 4 on Saturday.
