Representatives from the town’s Caring Community Housing Initiative spoke to Perth Council this week, giving them update on their plans for new affordable homes.
Reverend Ken Davis and David Kroetsch reported that donations were already coming in towards their group’s goal of raising $750K to build 3 social housing rental units in Perth.
They were looking for council to approve donating the land required from municipal surplus property.
Councillors expressed their support for the project’s goals and their thanks to the many members of the volunteer committees involved.
The Initiative’s steering committee will meet with town staff to review possible locations before seeking approval from council.
