Storm Response: Crews continue efforts to restore power as some will be out until Friday night, likely longer

Hydro One crews continue restoration efforts as quickly and as safely as possible.

While many of the outages in our listening area have been restored, there are still dozens affecting thousands of people.

Published restoration times are anywhere from later today into tomorrow. A number of outages have gone through the assessment stage now, leading to that Friday restoration estimate.

There are a number of outages that are still pending classification. Those could take a couple more days to restore.

Hydro One says that since Saturday, approximately 750 employees from 34 utilities and contractors have worked alongside their crews to get power back on for more than 600,000 customers.

They have been dealing with more than 1,800 broken hydro poles including many in our areas.

As an example of the type of work being done, the utility says they had to rebuild an entire line between Almonte and Carleton Place to restore power to the latter.
