The town of Smiths Falls is adding a little more inclusivity to its streets.
The two north/south crosswalks on Church Street at Beckwith Street North will be home to Pride crosswalks after new asphalt is added and the sidewalks are touched up.
The idea of having rainbow crosswalks came last summer from Trinity United Church, and council sided with staff on its location Tuesday night.
The rainbow flag represents LGBTQ+ pride and human rights.
Councilor Wendy Alford said its proximity to Town Hall sends a message that all are welcome to Smiths Falls.
Town staff consulted both the church and Pride Committee along the way, who have signed off on the location.
