Lanark County heard from its Climate Action Committee last week, which outlined a number of ways of making a healthier county.
There were ultimately 7 guiding principles the committee made to council after months of workshops and consultation.
Eliminating fossil fuel was first on the list. The committee says that ranges from small changes like having electric power tools, to large-scale projects like converting all county vehicle fleets to electric.
They also had ideas on how to reduce waste, like phasing out the sale of bottled water at municipal buildings and installing refill stations to replace water coolers.
The report was accepted as information and will be distributed across each municipality.
