Lanark County OPP responds to possible impaired call, driver faces several charges including assaulting a police officer

Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police report they responded to a call of a disturbance on Robert Road in Perth earlier this month, where impaired charges were laid against a local man.

Police say 73 year-old Bernd Meuller faces several impaired driving related charges, a failure to comply with a release order, and two counts of assaulting of a peace officer.

Police say the suspect was sitting in the vehicle when they got there.

Meuller was held for a show cause hearing where he will answer to the charges, which have not been proven in court.
