The Coroner’s Inquest into the death of three Ottawa Valley women, Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk and Nathalie Warmerdam, continues today in Pembroke.
Basil Borutski killed the three women in September 2015.
He had relationships in the past with all three and had spent time in jail for assaulting two of the women.
He was convicted of murdering all three.
Lanark County Interval House’s Emma Kinsman says she hopes the inquest will help the community.
Anna Camilleri, an artist with Redefine Arts helps to create memorial mosaics for victims of gender-based violence. She says for many it’s still like the violence of that September day took place yesterday.
At least thirty witnesses, including Interval House’s Executive Director Erin Lee are testifying in the inquest that will last 15 days.
The inquest is examining all circumstances surrounding the murders and will make recommendations to help prevent a similar tragedy.
