Canadian Blood Services says it’s dealing with its lowest donor base in more than a decade.
There are a few opportunities for you to donate locally to help the organization deals with what they are calling a critically low supply of blood.
The first is a week from today at the Legion in Smiths Falls – that’s Monday, June 20th. A week after that, they’ll be set up in Perth at the Civitan Club.
Donors in Carleton Place can either book at one of those sites or wait until July 22nd for a clinic in town at the arena.
Canadian Blood Services Spokesperson Rick Prinzen says the number of people who donate regularly has dropped by 31-thousand since the pandemic began.
This is also a slow time of year for donations as Canadians leave on vacations and cancel appointments.
