The boards of the Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital and Almonte General Hospital have a new collaboration called the Mississippi River Health Alliance.
It’s a move that formalizes their commitment to work together to create a better overall health care experience.
As we hear from Board Chair Carol Ann Esnard, it’s been in the works for a while.
Esnard remains board of the CP hospital, and assumes the same duties with the Almonte hospital. She stressed that the two hospitals remain separate legal entities with their own budgets, and foundations.
The Chair says it’s taken a while to get here, but it has been well worth it.
Among the benefits of the alliance, is offering patients unique services offered at each site, while core services are maintained in each community.
