Lanark County has several topics they’d like to address during the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference in August.
They want to express their support to the Minister of Health of the proposed withdrawal support program by Lanark County Mental Health.
Councilor Doug Black also requested representatives to speak to the Minister of Environment regarding climate change, algae, and e-coli levels seen in the county.
Councilor Bill Dobson says the health unit advised him of an emerging issue in the region regarding the lack of dental care for the vulnerable sector.
The county also plans to ask the Ministry of Transportation to upload the former Highway 29 and discuss the confidentiality of contract negotiations with the province, and ask the Ministry of Housing & Social Services for additional funding and support regarding rural housing.
