Big phase in Central Bridge reconstruction begins next week, another short stretch of Bridge St. to close

Carleton Place says a stretch of Bridge St. near Town Hall will be closed next week as a significant milestone in the work on the Central Bridge Reconstruction takes place.

The 18 large concrete girders which provide the structural backbone of the new bridge will be installed by a large crane.

The crane will be set up near town hall when they install the southern span later in the week.

That will result in the closure of Bridge Street from Franklin Street.

The town says pedestrians will continue to have access to businesses in this area.
