With so many kids and teens on social media now, the OPP is warning that sometimes so-called online challenges should be avoided.
Towards the end of the school year in the province saw students making threats against their schools.
That is a serious offence and OPP Constable Jamie Stanley says part of preventing youth from taking part in challenges like these is to get parents involved with their online lives.
Stanley adds that anytime a threat is made the consequences are very serious and charges are laid. Charges can stem from other challenges and online activity, like bullying and sharing nude images of peers.
He says it’s important that youth are taught to use common sense and good judgement before joining any trend.
