Reaction to the Roe V Wade decision in the US, ending constitutional protections for abortions in that country, has reverberated around the world, including here in Canada.
MBC spoke with Carolyn Egan, spokesperson with the Ontario Coalition for Abortion Clinics (or OCAC), who tells us despite seeing the leaks that this would happen the news was devastating.
Egan says people around the world still die as they access abortions from places that are not properly equipped to perform them.
The OCAC believes that everyone should have the option to decide what they want to do when it comes to having children, and laws need to be in place to protect those decisions.
