Heading to the beach? Our health unit has you covered

Many of us will be hitting the beach as part of our long weekend plans.
The Health Unit is back testing water to make sure its safe for us to get a much-needed break from the heat.

Senior Health Inspector Kim McCann says they do it every week.

McCann says they’re looking for bacteria, specifically, e-coli.

When tests come back with high levels of e-coli, they post a sign on the beach to alert swimmers.
