With storms like the May long-weekend wind and thunderstorms that knocked power out to thousands for days and days still fresh in many people’s minds, the town of Perth is encouraging people to join the Volunteer Corps of Ontario.
It’s a way to help your neighbours when a storm or other emergency situation strikes and the community has to respond.
Perth Fire Chief Trevor Choffe says its open to anyone over the age of 16, regardless of experience.
The Chief says he is sure that residents will sign up, because the town is a giving group, and volunteers make all the difference.
