A Central Frontenac man faces a list of charges, including theft by person holding power of attorney, after a years-long investigation into a ripped off elderly family member.
Frontenac OPP started the investigation back in 2017 when a family member told the OPP hundreds of thousands of dollars belonging to the elderly victim had disappeared.
The OPP worked with a Forensic Accountant, with the help of the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.
As a result of the investigation, 79 year-old John Erhardt of Central Frontenac Township was charged.
He is also facing fraudulent use of credit card, breach of trust, theft over $5000, and Identity fraud charges.
Police held him in custody. The charges against him haven’t been proven in court.
