Improving pandemic situation leads to COVID-19 screening policy shifts at two local hospitals

You’ll notice a big change if you visit the hospital in Almonte or Carleton Place.

They’ve changed their COVID-19 screening protocols as numbers of cases continue to decline.

There are no longer staff members at the doors of the Almonte General and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospitals.

Instead, visitors and patients coming to the hospitals will self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms by reviewing a list posted on the front doors.

Visitors still have to be fully vaccinated and should bring proof of vaccination with them as they may be asked to provide it. Everyone still has to wear a mask too.
