We asked Dr. Paula Stewart, Medical Officer of Health for the Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit if she agreed with calls by many to offer fourth COVID-19 vaccine shots.
The doctor says the recommendation also includes 12+, but at this point the 5+ group aren’t included.
Stewart says the question is: which vaccine?
She says Pfizer and Moderna are continuing to work on their offerings, and an Omicron specific component could be included in the next round of shots, only if its ready in time.
Dr. Stewart also assures the people of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville that the health unit is ready to roll out another vaccination campaign when the time comes.
