Perth Fire Services has announced a Lanark County Female Firefighting Camp called Iron Maidens.
The camp is open to self-identifying females ages 15-20 that live in the county and is 100% free of charge.
Its an immersive introduction to the world of firefighting that takes place over two days in October (Oct. 14&15).
Participants will learn and practice a variety of firefighting skills alongside current firefighters from our communities.
It includes hands-on activities using personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatuses, auto extraction tools, aerial ladder operations, hose control, search and rescue, and more.
