There has been an increase in incidents of mischief in Perth, and an increase of hate speech used in the crimes.
The town says there’s no place for hatred in any community, including Perth.
The town’s Council and staff are working with residents and the OPP to create a community where diversity is celebrated, and where every person can live with respect, dignity, and be free from discrimination.
If you see any such incidents taking place, please call 9-1-1.
If you know someone who did it, it could pay off. Crime Stoppers pays for tips leading to arrests. You can call them anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Police also remind those doing it that mischief is a criminal offense. Those found guilty have to pay for damages.
You can report any incidents after the fact to town hall too.
