The Almonte General Hospital has new fetal monitors for their well-known and respected birthing unit thanks in part to money donated from the annual Run/Walk for Women’s Health held each fall.
Part of the $48,000 price tag was also covered by donations to the Almonte General Hospital and Fairview Manor Hospital Foundation.
Foundation Managing Director Al Roberts says it’s a chance to let the public see their generosity in practice.
There are three new monitors in the birthing unit now. They monitor heart rates of both mother and child and offer a lot more real time information that will improve the birthing process for mother and child.
Roberts says the new equipment will make a big difference.
Roberts says they’re proud to share the news, to let their donors know their money is being well spent.
