The town of Carleton Place says the strike by concrete crews continues, and it’s affecting the work being done downtown.
Contractor Louis Bray and Town staff continued to meet regularly to monitor the progress on Bridge Street and to find ways to keep the project moving, despite the labour disruption.
With the work stoppage impacting the installation of sidewalks on the west side, Louis Bray will be continuing with the removal of the concrete sidewalk and curb on the east side of Bridge Street.
Pedestrians are encouraged to use the west sidewalk area which has been graded and topped with compacted stone dust.
