Kids may want to cover their ears for this one: The first day of school is coming up faster than we think.
That said, while contract talks continue with Ontario’s teachers, the Ford government says it expects students to have access to extracurricular activities when school starts in September.
MPP Patrice Barnes is the minister of education’s Parliamentary assistant. She tells us that extra-curriculars are a big part of the plan.
The MPP says they are also teaching kids about money, and hands-on work.
The province’s back-to-school plan also includes investment in tutoring, for the benefit of students who’ve have fallen behind during the pandemic.
The first day of school is set September 6th.
For any student who may be reading this the last day is less than a year away on June 28th.
