It looks like we have one more day of oppressive heat to deal with before we get a bit of a break.
If you’re on Holidays or a visitor to our area and are looking to cool off, our local beaches are a great option.
The Health Unit tests the water weekly for bacteria and we give you the beach report here on Lake 88 on the weekend.
We’ll give you a bonus edition today.
As it stands Riverside Beach in Carleton Place, Almonte Beach, and Portland Campbell St. Beach in Rideau Lakes are the only ones operating under a caution. The health Unit says they are not recommended for swimming.
Also of note, the beach at Lyn Valley Park in Elizabethtown in closed as it has been deemed unsafe.
Remember to please watch your kids very carefully is they go in any body of water to cool off.
