The committee behind the Community Plan for Safety and Well-Being recently presented an update to the public highlighting some of their accomplishments.
The overall purpose of the plan is to examine assets in the community, assess gaps and develop strategies to enhance the community safety and well-being for residents of Lanark County and Smiths Falls.
The Committee’s Stephanie Gray tells us one example of coming together came in the early days of COVID-19.
Gray says one area that has seen great strides is mental health.
Basically, the plan involves many local organizations working to make our lives better.
The Committee’s Larry McDermott with Plenty Canada tells us, getting the word out there can be difficult.
We will soon be highlighting different aspects of the plan here on Lake 88 to ensure the people of Lanark County and Smiths Falls know what resources are available.
